The shift solenoids are the means by which this control is physically achieved within the transmission. Shift solenoids are relatively basic in design and principal. Simply put, the shift solenoid has a spring loaded plunger inside of it that will move transmission fluid in and out of different parts of the transmission.

The car has around k KM down, and the trans has been rebuilt by a "professional" possibly a bad sign here in Germany. The PO suspected a "electrical problem" I guessed that one of the solenoids went bad, but I wanna go sure and check everything else, so I get every possible error the tranny might have before I tell the owner what to get and what to do.

Instead drop the trans oil pan and simply disconnect the solenoids and test them with an ohm meter. They should test at around ohms. If you really wanted to, you could jumper 12V and ground to them to ensure they "snap" and move their plunger. Make sure they are disconnected from the trans harness before testing! Note the Solenoid B is spring loaded with a very mild spring.

Bradley answered 4 years ago. I have also checked the transmission fluid level and its rite where it needs to be to. Motor runs fine to! The 4l60e, 4l60 and r4 all have multiple weak areas and fail in a variety of ways. Yes you may be right with the plugging. The bottom port on the tranny is the pressure port.
Disconnect either and run a clear hose to a pail and briefly check flow easier with a helper. If you pull the return you will check flow through the cooler as well. Next step would be to check the pressure at the test port. If you have no flow out of the tranny check filter if it falls down out of position the pump cannot suck in new fluid.
Or pump has failed. If you have flow but no pressure it can be the pump or pressure reg. If you have flow and pressure it can be a number of things. FYI the torque converter bolts to the flywheel, pull the dust cover and make sure they are good. Usually you hear them when they come out or break.
